The Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene degree prepares students for a career as a dental hygienist. Salina Area Technical College Dental Hygiene Program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.

Dental hygienists are licensed professionals who provide oral health services, including full assessments of the health of the teeth and supporting structures, therapeutic and preventive procedures, radiographic evaluation, and patient education. Dental hygienists must be licensed in the state where they practice. A candidate must graduate from an accredited dental hygiene school and pass national and local examinations to obtain licensure. Students will also complete the KS Work Ready certification.

Students at SATC will receive their education working with skilled professionals in a newly remodeled dental clinic located on campus. Our dental clinic will provide hands-on training where you will provide comprehensive therapeutic and preventive services.
